about

Passion in Fidelity is track 2 of Fervency's 2016 album, 'Lowering Entropy'.

Passion in Fidelity' is in essence a question. The play on words relates to the 'traditional' values of a relationship (faithfulness within monogamy etc)
The song takes the base idea of this 'norm' and raises the concept- 'Passion in faithfulness' and/or passion being free/poly-amorous.

lyrics

Passion in Fidelity

Reason beseech me,
I know I shouldn’t but I will.
What a pill to fill the unfulfilled aching,
Of a heart forbidden.

Treason teach me,
I sow I wouldn’t with what skill?
What new drill of will has the unskilled wanting,
made fast?
Unbidden…

Empty disguise owns me:
her tear-filled eyes on me:

Seasons impeach me,
The wax and wane of liberty.
What new vision of prohibition makes wanting,
A path of living?

Lesions cascade me,
The scared cracks that kiss and tell.
By what measure should passions treasure be an error?
They ask the living…

Empty disguise owns me:
Her tear-filled eyes on me.
Disguise me…

Empty disguise owns me:
Her tear-filled eyes on me.

Disguise me…

about

Fervency Copenhagen, Denmark

Fervency began in mid-2010 with Thomas Blæsbjerg composing, analogues/synth and strings and co-collaborator Calvin Batley on vocals, lyrics and strings.
With a sound and vibe reminiscent of and as diverse as acts like Depeche mode and Faith No More, the musical landscapes are broad and bound together by the red line of the band, musically and lyrically, on a bed of alternative rock.
